I wrote and illustrated this children's storybook, capturing the journey of an older sibling leaving for college and the bond they share with their younger sibling.
This children’s book explores disabilities that aren’t always visible, using the story of Kiwi, a toucan, to highlight themes of resilience and self-acceptance. Kiwi was born into a family deep in the tropical rainforest, but from the moment he hatched, he couldn’t understand why he was unable to fly. A birth defect had made flying impossible for him. Over time, Kiwi discovered that being different didn’t mean he couldn’t join his family in the sky—it just meant he needed to find his own way. Embracing his uniqueness, Kiwi soared alongside his siblings, proud of the special ability that set him apart.
